Heat that goes deep

Warmth does half the work before the hands begin.

Hot stone massage uses smooth basalt stones, warmed and placed along the body and worked into the muscles. The heat relaxes tissue faster than pressure alone, which lets your therapist work deeper with less force, and the warmth settles the nervous system in a way few treatments can. It is the massage we recommend for stiffness, stress, cold hands and feet, and the end of a long week.

Our “Newport” Hot Stone is named for our first home in Newport Beach, and it has been on the menu since 2014. For the full experience, The Nurture Massage builds hot stones into an 85-minute session with deep tissue, aromatherapy, and lymphatic drainage.

Why here

Stones, oils, and a slower pace.

We pair the stones with Epicuren lotion and a deliberately slower rhythm. Heat is checked constantly, stones are swapped as they cool, and the session ends with a cool-down so you leave grounded, not groggy.

What makes it different

Heat, held properly.

Stones in motion. The stones are not just placed. They are worked into the muscle so the heat and the pressure arrive together.

Temperature checked constantly. Warm, never hot. Stones are swapped as they cool so the experience is even from start to finish.

Deeper with less force. Heated tissue releases faster, so your therapist can go deep without the bracing a cold deep tissue session can cause.

A proper cool-down. We finish with lighter strokes and a few quiet minutes so you leave grounded.

Frequently asked

Good to know.

What are the benefits of hot stone massage?

The heat relaxes muscle tissue faster than pressure alone, boosts circulation, eases stiffness and joint discomfort, and calms the nervous system. Many clients find it the most deeply relaxing massage on the menu.

Is hot stone massage too hot?

No. The basalt stones are warmed to a comfortable temperature, checked constantly, and swapped as they cool. Tell your therapist if anything feels too warm and it will be adjusted immediately.

Can hot stone massage be deep tissue?

Yes. Because heated tissue releases more easily, your therapist can work deeper with less force. If you want firm pressure, say so at your check-in, or add the Deep Tissue Upgrade.

How much is a hot stone massage in Orange County?

At Lemon & Honey the Newport Hot Stone is $240 for 50 minutes, $265 for 70 minutes, and $295 for 85 minutes. The Nurture Massage, which includes hot stones, is $295 for 85 minutes. Members save 20% to 30%.

Who should avoid hot stone massage?
