Dry, dry, dry……dry skin, dry lips

There are more steps than just putting on some moisturizer to protect your skin from the winter months. Here are some quick tips that can help you keep your skin hydrated and protected.
Choose a hydrating cleanser: Try a creamy cleanser that won’t leave moisture behind. There are technologically advanced cleansers that wash away debris from the skin’s surface, including dirt and oil, while depositing moisturizing and softening ingredients on the skin. Look for cleansers with humectants, such as hyaluronic acid, that help to hold onto water within the skin. Check for products that are fragrance-free, alcohol-free and preservatives-free. Fragrances and preservatives can irritate your skin and can turn your complexion into a dry, flaky mess. As an alternative to your sweet-smelling cleanser, try a fragrance and preservative-free alternative like the Eminence Firm Skin Acai cleanser, which is an organic cream-based cleanser that will leave your skin feeling plump and hydrated.
Moisturize: Apply a thick moisturizer or a healing oil immediately after showering or every time you wash your face. Try a hydrating oil like Naturopathica’s Carrot Seed oil.

Block the rays. The sun’s rays can be as harmful to skin in the winter as they are in the summer. Start using sunscreen year-round to prevent dry skin, wrinkles and roughness. Apply an SPF moisturizer like the Tropical Vanilla Day Cream SPF 32.

Exfoliate: Scrub your lips: Try a yummy sugar scrub mixed with Coconut oil to exfoliate those lips!
Slather:Choose a gentle balm. Look for a balm that’s free of fragrance and alcohol FREE. Try Epicuren’s Anti-Aging Lip Balm SPF 15 or Naturopathica’s Honey Vanilla Lip Balm!
